Join educators from around the region to explore the latest trends and developments in providing effective initial and continuing education in our emergency medical services education programs. Leading national education experts will stimulate discussion on: enabling students to learn from gurus, the educator's role in team performance expectations, the art of motivation in online education, teaching online synchronously, effectively evaluating the affective, student centered learning, and updates from the State.
The afternoon preconference on May 16 will focus on mobile learning. In this four-hour hands-on workshop participants will learn how to use and leverage a number of digital tools for the 21st century classroom, including Podcasting, screencasting, virtual office hours, QR codes, augmented reality and more. Participants will be given a sampling of digital tools to choose from to embark on their own digital journey.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop, headset with microphone, and also to download the following free PC/Mac software: Audacity, Jing, and Skype. Participants who own an iPad2 or later model may also wish to download Aurasma Lite, Scan, and ScreenChomp. These apps may or may not be available for Android or Windows devices.
